Thematic Plan for Climate Change 2018-2022.

This Thematic Plan for Climate Change is included in the various instruments to guide the transition towards sustainable development of the country, under the provisions of the Kenya Vision 2030. The Thematic Plan defines programmes and projects for implementing a low carbon and climate resilient development pathway, focusing on: keeping a low level of greenhouse gas emissions; stimulating investments in green economy; implementing adaptation and mitigation actions; development projects in the different socio-economic sectors that does not adversely impact on the environment. This Thematic Plan is structured as follows: situation analysis; green economy strategy and implementation plan; sectoral climate change policy and initiatives; emerging issues and challenges, including land and environmental degradation; climate change governance and coordination; capacity building and public awareness; climate change monitoring, reporting and verification.
