The Chief Conservator of Forests may appoint timber graders for purposes of this Act. A grader may refuse to grade timber if he or she considers it to be unfit for grading. Only graders shall mark any timber with a mark prescribed by Rules made under this Act. Only timber with an export permit issued by the Conservator shall be exported and no timber of Uganda and Tanzania shall be re-exported, unless it is accompanied by a document issued in the country concerned allowing such export. Other conditions of exportation are prescribed. The Minister may, by notice in the Gazette, restrict or prohibit the export of any specified timber of Kenya origin.
