Abstract
These Regulations, made under provisions of section 122 of the Tourism Act, apply to all tourism enterprises specified in the attached schedules of the Act. The Regulations concern: standardisation of tourism enterprises; mandatory standards covering safety, security, quality and operational services, hygiene and sanitation standards appropriate to the nature of the enterprise, including clean premises, safe food-handling practices, and effective waste-management systems; accreditation standards and classification scheme; classification of accommodation and catering establishments based on criteria relating to: sustainability and best practices, physical facilities, architectural design, guest facilities and services quality, food safety and hygiene practices, safety and security measures; quality audits for accreditation and classification schemes; establishment of classification and accreditation committee; offences and penalties concerning classification and accreditation; licensing of tourism enterprises; enforcement provisions and quality audits.
