Wajir County Climate Change Fund Act, 2016 (No. 3 of 2016).

This Act establishes the Wajir Climate Change Fund, which shall be used to fund Climate Change projects, programs and activities provided for in the Climate Finance Framework established under this Act. The Act provides with the administration of the Fund and requires the Executive Member in charge of finance to publish a Climate Finance Framework for the County every two years. The Climate Finance Frameworks shall be developed through a consultative process spearheaded by the Steering Committee (established under this Act. The Act also establishes the Wajir County Climate Change Fund Planning Committee. The functions of this Committee shall, among other things, be to develop a projects eligibility criteria under this Act and to design a Climate Change Awareness strategy for the County. There shall be Fund Administrator for the Fund who shall be the secretary to the County Planning Committee.
