Abstract
The Parliament decrees that the priority direction in the development of agro-industrial complex is the transition within 10 years to the production of organic agricultural products (crop and livestock production) throughout the Kyrgyz Republic, production of which must be carried out without the use of pesticides, herbicides, fungicides and other synthetic or genetically modified agrochemicals and growth regulators, except for organic fertilizers and biological preparations. The Government is entitled with the following tasks: (a) to elaborate and validate the State Program for the development of organic agriculture; (b) to perform arrangements for the gradual transition of some rural areas to organic agricultural production; (c) to elaborate the mechanism of stimulation scientific research for the development of effective plant protection means; (d) to take measures for attracting investments in organic agriculture sector; (e) to elaborate programs for financing on preferential terms of business entities engaged in organic agriculture production; and (f) to set up special certification bodies and laboratories for introduction and development of organic agriculture production.
