Governmental Decree No. 36 validating the Regulation on the procedure for determining the norms of livestock pressure on grazing land of the Kyrgyz Republic.

This Regulation establishes the procedure for determining the norms of livestock pressure on grazing land of the Kyrgyz Republic with a view of preventing degradation and desertification of agricultural land. It shall be applicable to grazing grounds, including forest pastures. The scope of determining the norms of livestock pressure on grazing land shall be to maintain ecological balance, natural grass stand, implementation of calculations according to the norm of pressure on rangelands for the rational use of rangelands. Rates of livestock pressure on grazing land shall be calculated per hectare expressed in the number of conventional head of livestock that can provide forage for a unit of pasture area. The pressure is determined depending on the typological composition of vegetation, the utilization rate of rangelands (herbage by seasons) and yield. The rate of load on pastures of the Kyrgyz Republic for the territory of the corresponding rural district is established by local authorities of self-government, taking into account natural and climatic conditions, productivity, daily feed rates that cannot be lower than baseline indicators.
