Governmental Decree No. 9 validating hazardous waste classifier and methodological recommendations for determining the hazard class of waste.

This Governmental Decree validates the National Classifier of waste, including non-domestic (industrial) waste and hazardous waste. National Classifier is intended for use in the waste management system, including accounting, control, rate setting when handling wastes, issuing permits for transboundary movement and disposal of waste, designing environmental facilities and conducting environmental protection measures, assessing social, economic, resource and material risk and damage in case of the occurrence of accidents and disasters. National Classifier is designed to determine the level of hazard and coding of waste. In the absence of a certain type of waste in the classifier, the hazard level and coding are substantiated in each specific case and coordinated with the authorized body in the field of environmental protection.
