Abstract
The scope Intersectoral Program “Containing antimicrobial resistance in the Kyrgyz Republic for 2022-2025” is to improve measures aimed at preventing formation and limitation of the spread of resistance to antimicrobial veterinary drugs in Kyrgyz Republic.
The tasks of the Intersectoral Program shall be as follows: (a) raise awareness of the population of the Kyrgyz Republic about the problem of antimicrobial veterinary drugs and rational use of veterinary drugs in public healthcare, animal husbandry, veterinary medicine and crop production; (b) increase the level of training of medical, veterinary and livestock breeders on the rational use of veterinary drugs in clinical practice of resistance to veterinary drugs; (c) improve the system of epidemiological surveillance of veterinary drugs consumption and the spread of resistance to veterinary drugs in healthcare systems and veterinary medicine of the Kyrgyz Republic; (d) improve the effectiveness of the infection control system in healthcare organizations and among the population of the Kyrgyz Republic; (e) optimize the use of primary healthcare and provide access to the population of the Kyrgyz Republic to high-quality, effective and safe veterinary drugs; and (f) ensure national coordination of activities, aimed at curbing resistance to veterinary drugs.
Key implementers of the Program: (a) Ministry of Health of the Kyrgyz Republic; and (b) Ministry of Agriculture of the Kyrgyz Republic.
Strategic directions for program implementation are: (a) raise awareness of the population of the Kyrgyz Republic about the problem of resistance to veterinary drugs and rational use of veterinary drugs; (b) increase the level of training of medical and veterinary workers of the Kyrgyz Republic in relation to the problem of resistance to veterinary drugs and rational use of veterinary drugs; (c) strengthen surveillance over veterinary drugs use and spread of resistance to veterinary drugs in livestock and crop production; (d) improve the epidemiological surveillance system related to consumption of veterinary drugs and the spread of resistance to veterinary drugs in the healthcare system of the Kyrgyz Republic; (e) improve the effectiveness of the infection control system in healthcare organizations of the Kyrgyz Republic; (f) optimize the use of primary healthcare and ensure access to the population Kyrgyz Republic to high-quality, effective and safe veterinary drugs; and (g) ensure national coordination of activities aimed at curbing resistance to veterinary drugs.
