Law No. 137 “On energy efficiency of edifices”.

The scope of this Law shall be to promote and improve energy efficiency of edifices with a view of reduction of consumption of energy resources and emissions of greenhouse gases to the atmosphere. It shall be applicable to: (a) edifices of different types; (b) projecting, operation, rent, lease, trade of edifices and energy renovation thereof. Energy efficiency of edifices shall be based upon the following principles: (a) efficient and rational use of energy resources; (b) reduction of consumption of primary energy; (c) consistency of regulations set for energy efficiency of edifices; and (d) reduction of emissions of greenhouse gases in CO2 equivalent. It also regulates energy certification of edifices.
