Law No. 20 On prohibition of import, production, manufacture, sale and use of synthetic fishing nets, electric fish traps in the Kyrgyz Republic.

The scope of this La shall be to ensure conservation of aquatic biological resources, natural habitat thereof, and ensuring favourable environment. In order to preserve aquatic biological resources and their habitat, it is prohibited to import, produce, manufacture, sell and use synthetic fishing nets and electric fish traps in Kyrgyz Republic. When synthetic fishing nets and electric fish traps are detected by the authorized state bodies, they shall be confiscated in accordance with the legislation of Kyrgyz Republic. The list of synthetic fishing nets and electric fish traps and the procedure of their destruction shall be established by the Government of Kyrgyz Republic. Revenues derived from illegal activities shall be confiscated and transferred to the national budget. Persons guilty of violating the requirements of this Law shall bear responsibility in accordance with the legislation of the Kyrgyz Republic.
