Ministerial Decree No. 161 validating the Regulation on protection of fish stocks and natural habitats thereof in the fishing waterbodies.

This Ministerial Decree establishes the modalities of protection of fish stocks and natural habitats thereof in the fishing waterbodies. Protection of fish stocks and natural habitats thereof shall be carried out by: (a) establishment of rules, provisions and other requirements for fishery management and stock enhancement; (b) registration of fish stocks; (c) restriction of fisheries and acclimatization of alien species; (d) scientific research; (e) improvement of natural habitats and spawning grounds; (f) compensation of damages caused by illegal fisheries or by destruction of stocks; and (g) setting scientifically substantiated limits of catch and requirements for fishing gear and fishing methods.
