Ministerial Decree No. 26 validating the Technical Regulation “On safety of fresh fruits and vegetables”.

This Ministerial Decree has as its purpose to ensure protection of human life and health and prevention of fraud against consumers thus ensuring protection thereof. Technical Regulation shall be compulsory for application as an obligatory requirement for safety of fruits and vegetables destined for fresh consumption, and also for processing, handling, transport, storage and destruction thereof. Only fresh fruits (of national origin and imported) and vegetables complying with the provisions of this Technical Regulation shall be authorized for internal trade. Fresh fruits must be free of quarantine objects and comply with the national legislation on plant quarantine. All the fresh fruits must be identifiable and traceable.
