Ministerial Decree No. 295 validating the Regulation on control over environment, rational management of natural resources and ensuring ecological safety.

This Ministerial Decree establishes the modalities of carrying out the state control over environmental protection, rational management of natural resources and ensuring ecological safety. The state control shall have as it purpose: (a) environmental monitoring; (b) environmental audit; and (c) enforcement of legislation on environmental protection. Ministry of Environmental Protection shall be the authorized institution for carrying out the state control over environment, rational management of natural resources and ensuring ecological safety. The officials of the authorized environmental protection institution shall have the following rights: (a) free access to enterprises, organizations, natural reserves and protected areas for inspection; (b) enforcement of environmental protection legislation; (c) inspection of licensing terms and conditions; and (d) bring a suit against infringers of environmental legislation for compensation of damages.
