Ministerial Decree No. 479 validating Technical Regulation “On natural honey”.

This Technical Regulation establishes: (a) compulsory safety requirements for natural honey; (b) requirements for processing, handling, storage, trade, recycling and (or) destruction of honey, except for homemade honey not destined for trade; (c) traceability of honey; (d) labelling of honey; and (d) compliance of honey with the provisions and requirements of this Technical Regulation. The scope of this Technical Regulation shall be prevention of fraud and protection of public health and human life. Traceability and identification of natural honey shall be performed for consumer protection purposes. Honey destined for release on internal market shall be obtained from apiculture farms free of dangerous infectious diseases of bees.
