Ministerial Decree No. 702 validating the Regulation on state supervision.

This Ministerial Decree establishes that this Regulation shall be used as guideline by the authorized state executive bodies carrying out state supervision over compliance of the produce circulating on the national territory with mandatory requirements and standards. The purpose of state supervision shall be to ensure protection of consumers’ rights. State supervision shall be applicable, in particular, to the requirements ensuring safety of human life and health, protection of animals and plants, and prevention of deceit and fraud. The main tasks of state supervision shall be: (a) prevention of violation of mandatory requirements set for produce; (b) prevention of violation of mandatory requirements set for certification; and (c) prevention and suppression of violations of sanitary, veterinary and phytosanitary requirements.
