Resolution No. 706 of the Cabinet of Ministers validating the Program for the creation and development of the National Spatial Data Infrastructure of the Kyrgyz Republic for 2022-2024.

This Program defines the goals, objectives, and main directions for the creation and development of the National Spatial Data Infrastructure to achieve results on the path to building a digital society and digital government. National Spatial Data Infrastructure shall be intended sets of spatial data, metadata and services for their processing, network services and technologies, agreements on access, exchange and use of information, coordination and monitoring mechanisms, processes and procedures. Spatial data shall be intended data on spatial objects that have a direct or indirect reference to a location on earth, defined in the spatio-temporal coordinate system. Spatial data set is a set of spatial data created according to uniform standards and requirements.
The scope of the creation and development of the National Spatial Data Infrastructure is to create conditions that ensure free access of state authorities and local governments, organizations and citizens to spatial data and their effective use. The creation of the National Spatial Data Infrastructure is aimed at providing geoinformation support for state tasks of the national socio-economic development and, first of all, at providing spatial data to functioning and planned regional, municipal, sectoral and departmental information systems and reducing the costs of their operation, maintenance and provision of spatial data.
The implementation of activities for the creation and development of the National Spatial Data Infrastructure is envisaged in compliance with the following principles: (a) maximum use and provision of already created basic and thematic spatial data during work on their actualization in the national territory; (a) availability of information resources containing basic spatial data; (b) strict compliance with national regulatory legal acts, standards and internal acts; and (c) ensuring security during the creation of the spatial data infrastructure and its operation, as well as the protection of the information contained therein.
Expected results: (a) ensure access to already created and designed spatial data systems by the executive authorities, local government bodies, organizations and the population; (b) develop services and products provided using spatial data; (c) ensure the availability of up-to-date and accessible spatial information on the national territory.
