Abstract
This Criminal Code of the Kingdom of Cambodia aims to provide criminal law definitions of what people should and should not do, and other mechanisms related to criminal procedures.
The Code specifies the offences, points out the persons who could be declared as responsible for the offences and determine the penalties as well as the modalities of their application. The Code consists of 703 Articles divided into four Parts: 1. Fundamental Principles; 2. Crime against Persons; 3. Offence against Properties; 4. Offences against the Nation. The Code includes penalties for: provision of poisonous food and introduction of poisonous substances in drinking water(art. 230); harming animals (art. 436-439); illegal disposal of rubbish at a public or private place (art. 697 and 699); etc.
