Abstract
This Decision provides for the creation of a Sand Resources Management Commission and defines its composition.
The Sand Resources Management Commission will have the following duties: to inspect and follow-up sand pumping business for export and local use; to study and determine sites to be authorized for appropriately carrying on sand pumping businesses, facilitating ship navigation, and assuring that such businesses will not affect river currents, which cause the river bank to erode; to study opportunities for pumping soil from the Mekong river to fill in lake for development in Phnom Penh capital with authorization from the Royal Government; to review and request the approval from the Head of the Royal Government to cancel business licences of any company that did not comply with the decision of the Sand Resources Management Commission; and to report on working group results to be submitted to the Head of the Royal Government.
