Abstract
The Law on Tourism formulates rules and mechanisms for the governance and development of the tourism sector in Cambodia. The purposes of this Law are the following: to govern the development of the tourism sector in a sustainable manner, to protect and conserve natural resources, to ensure and promote the quality of tourism services in Cambodia, to minimize the negative impacts of the tourism sector, and to develop human resources in the tourism sector. The Law has several chapters: General disposition (chapter I); Tourism policy and plan (chapter II); Jurisdiction (chapter III); Institutional framework and funding (chapter IV); Quality assurance, standards and licensing (chapter V); Obligation of tourism stakeholders (Chapter VI); Ombudsman of tourism (chapter VII); Prohibition of minors (Chapter VIII); Monitoring, inspection and enforcement (chapter IX).
