Prakas No. 225 (MAFF) on technical standards for constructing slaughterhouses.

The purpose of this Regulation (Prakas) is to determine the location and technical standards for the construction of slaughterhouses so as to ensure the implementation of the rules of veterinarians and the hygiene of meat and animal products in order to protect public health and the environment.
The Regulation defines terms and conditions for: the location for the construction of slaughterhouses for each type of animal; the premises for slaughterhouses; the building where animals are slaughtered and processed; and the disposal of liquid and solid waste.
