Abstract
This Proclamation, consists of eight articles and three Tables. Pesticide registration is under the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries (MAFF). Two are the concerned institutions: the General Directorate of Agriculture (GDA) and the Department of Agricultural Legislation (NAL). GDA is responsible to carry out analysis on pesticides and other bio-pesticide experience in the field. NAL is responsible to register related pesticides. The tables establish the following issues. Table 1 lays down the List of Banned Pesticides, specifying the following information: Common names, Permitted uses and Toxicity Class. Table 2 lays down the List of Restricted Pesticides attaching the WHO Classification and specifying the level of toxicity for hazardous substances. Table 3 is related to the List of Registered and Permitted Pesticides and their Use.
