Abstract
Cambodia’s Roadmap for Food Systems for Sustainable Development 2030 outlines a national vision where all Cambodians can access healthy, safe, and affordable diets by 2030. The roadmap highlights persistent challenges such as malnutrition, poverty, climate vulnerability, and unequal access to nutritious food. It builds on major national strategies—including the National Strategic Development Plan (NSDP), Second National Strategy for Food Security and Nutrition (2019–2023), Agricultural Sector Plan, and SDGs—and reflects insights from 30 national dialogues involving nearly 2,000 participants. The vision emphasizes resilient, inclusive, and environmentally sustainable food systems that support women, youth, and vulnerable groups.
The roadmap identifies four priority areas: healthy diets for all; empowerment of youth, women, and vulnerable groups; resilient livelihoods and food systems; and improved governance for inclusive, multisectoral collaboration. The document details “game changers,” such as expanding social assistance, promoting digitalization and innovation, strengthening food safety, improving climate-resilient infrastructure, and adopting One-Health principles. It sets milestones for 2025 and 2030 and calls for continuous dialogue, stronger data systems, private sector engagement, and alignment of future policies. The concluding section stresses that inclusive cooperation across all levels is essential for achieving sustainable, equitable food systems and ensuring no one is left behind.
