Abstract
This Sub-decree aims to organize units of Ministry of Health and determine the mission of the Ministry and functions of all Directorate General and Departments. It establishes composition, duties and responsibilities of this Ministry entitled to lead and manage in health sector of the Kingdom of Cambodia. The Ministry of Health has the roles and duties stated as follows: Determine the health policies based on the basic programme of the Royal Government of Cambodia aiming to promote the health and well-being of the citizens; Plan and develop strategies for health sector; Develop regulations to ensure the maximum of the public and private health quality; Monitor, remind and administer and evaluate technical and administrative works of health units in accordance with the law and regulations which have been officially promulgated for implementation; Study and search for other means for development in health sector, and manage the human resources, equipment, finance, and health information in accordance with the public health system at the central level, provincial, municipal, capital, district, Khan (quarter), commune and Sangkat; Develop prevention programme and medical care aiming to eliminate or reduce the cause which develops disease in the country; Coordinate the existing resources based on the needs in order to acquired good outcomes; Manage health production, business and distribute drug and medical and paramedical equipment to all public and private units; Control the safety of food.
