Abstract
This Act makes provision for the protection of consumers, i.e. a person or enterprise that acquires goods or services from any supplier, including a manufacturer, trader, or provider of services or advice. The Act also makes provision for the administration of provisions of this Act, the appointment of inspectors for purposes of this Act, their functions and powers, approval of standards by the Minister, the prohibition of the supply of goods below approved standards, warranties, recall of products and other measures to protect the consumer.
