Abstract
The Regulations are divided into 5 Parts: Preliminary (I); Forms and Fees (II); Fish-processing establishments (III); Export (IV); Samples and Offences (V).
Licences of which the forms and fees are set out in Schedule 1 shall be the licences prescribed for the purposes of section 6 of the Fisheries Act (reg. 3). Licences shall be applied for in respect of a class of fish processing establishment set out in Schedule 2 (reg. 4). Regulation 5 provides for conditions of fish processing licences. Quality standards for water used in fish processing are specified in regulation 8. Fish processing shall be carried out in compliance with the requirements set out in Schedule 4 (reg. 9). No fish or fish product processed at a fish-processing establishment may be exported for sale outside Kiribati unless it is accompanied by a duly completed certificate of quality in the appropriate form set out in Schedule 3 (reg. 10). The Regulations are completed by 4 Schedules.
