Abstract
These Regulations set out offences, including (a) to fish within the waters of Kiritimati without a valid tourist fishing permit, (b) to use a net (other than a dip net) to fish, (c) to catch, kill, fish for or possess a bonefish, (d) sell or offer for sale bonefish or any product derived from bonefish, and penalties for any person who contravenes any provision of this Regulation. Furthermore, these Regulations lay down procedures and principles for tourist fishing permit and research permit, and provisions on the additional powers of authorized officers, wildlife wardens, appointment of fishing guides to be authorized persons for the purposes of these Regulations. The Schedule to these Regulations list the fees for issuance and renewal of tourist fishing permit. These Regulations shall apply to Kiritimati and the waters of Kiritimati.
