Abstract
This Act, consisting of 19 articles and divided into five Parts, provides for regulating the holding of land by aliens and companies under alien control. The Act requires aliens to obtain licences in order to hold land or mortgages on land in the country, and provides for the forfeiture of illegally-held land and shares of companies that do not comply with the provisions of the Act. The Act also restricts the holding of directorships, shares or debentures by aliens in companies incorporated in Saint Christopher and Nevis; provides for registration of company s licence; and imposes limitations on trusts in favour of aliens. The Act gives the government the power to exempt aliens and alien companies from the provisions of the Act under certain conditions.
