Abstract
This Act, consisting of 32 article divided into six Parts, contains provisions for the acquisition of land by the State. Part II concerns acquisition of land and abandonment of acquisition for public purposes; preliminary notification and power to enter land and demarcate the land intended to be taken; assessment of compensation; power to apply land to purposes of acquisition without waiting for formal vesting; demarcation of land and issue of notice of acquisition; authorised officer to treat with landowner; appointment and powers of the Board of assessment; claims for compensation.
