Abstract
The National Implementation Plan for the Management of Persistent Organic Pollutants is a national policy with a multi-sectoral approach. The timeframe of this Plan is 10 years between 2014 and 2024. The overall purpose of the National Implementation Plan is to establish an effective system for the management of persistent organic pollutants in order to protect human health and secure environmental protection in compliance with the Stockholm Convention. In order to reduce and eliminate the releases of POPs and other toxic chemicals, this National Implementation Plan lays down priorities and actions in the fields of human and environmental health, waste disposal, soil, water and air quality, plant health, pesticide utilization, food safety and wildlife. The implementation of this National Plan will be coordinated by the Ministry of Sustainable Development.
