Abstract
This Act, consisting of nine articles, provides for protecting domestic, captive or wild animal against cruelty. According to the Act, the definition of animal includes any domestic, captive or wild animal, either bird, beast, fish, reptile or insect. The Act concerns: specific penalties for any form of cruelty to animals; powers of court to order the destruction of an animal, if it would be cruel to keep the animal alive; powers of court to deprive person of ownership of an animal; power to order arrest; measures concerning diseased or injured animals; powers of police officers.
