Abstract
This Act provides for the management, conservation and utilization of water resources. Water resources shall consist of rivers, reservoirs and lakes, mineral water and groundwater.
The Act makes provision for the prospecting for and development of water resources which shall be undertaken by the hydro-meteorological organs and the State planning organ, respectively.
The conservation of water resources shall be undertaken by the land and environment conservation organs by creating watershed protection forests, repair reservoirs, lakes, wells and other water-drawing facilities in order to build up necessary water.
The Act further provides for the following: building of proper sewage treating facilities; flood control measures; management of drinking water; supervision and control over the prospecting for, development, conservation and utilization of water resources.
