Abstract
The Medium Term Strategic Plan for the Development of the Health Sector is a national policy with a cross-sectoral approach. The timeframe of the policy is 15 years between 2016 and 2030. The identified strategies and focus areas are: 1. control of communicable diseases, 2. non-communicable diseases, 3. maternal and child health, 4. improved quality of health services, 5. development of medical science and technology, 6. improved medicine and medical supplies for health services, 7. strengthened health system, and 8. social and environmental determinants of health. This Strategic Plan identifies the social and environmental determinants of health as food safety, healthy and hygienic living conditions, climate change, safe water, and emergency risk management.
