Act on the Establishment and Operation of Marine Disaster Rescue Teams (No. 19911).

The purpose of this Act is to systematically support the work of the Coast Guard in responding to and preventing water rescue and disaster accidents at sea by regulating matters necessary for the establishment and operation of a marine disaster rescue team.

Additionally, the Act mandates that the Coast Guard provides necessary management, support, and training for team members, which may be delegated to the Korea Maritime Rescue Association. Furthermore, the Act includes provisions for the issuance of certificates of experience for team members and outlines the conditions under which team members may be appointed or dismissed. It emphasizes the importance of proper conduct and adherence to duties, with specific penalties for violations.
