Enforcement Decree of the Act on the Sustainable Use of Timbers.

The purpose of this Decree is to prescribe matters mandated by the Act on the Sustainable Use of Timbers and matters necessary for enforcing said Act.
The timber culture indices provided for in Article 11 of the Act shall be measured by determining detailed items of examination and the weight for each individual item based on the following matters and by compiling and aggregating data collected through relevant statistical surveys, surveys by questionnaire, etc.: 1. The level of infrastructure for the use of timber established; 2. The degree of the use of timber facilitated; 3. The degree of recognition of timber culture; 4. Any other matters the Minister of the Korea Forest Service deems necessary. The criteria for certification and authorization provided for in Article 14 (2) of the Act shall be as specified in attached Table 1. The Decree further makes provisions for: standards for designating safe timber products and hazardous timber products; designation of new technology for timber products; import inspection; etc.
