Abstract
The purpose of this Decree is to prescribe the matters mandated by the Kimchi Industry Promotion Act and those necessary for the enforcement thereof.
The Decree defines the kimchi industry to include production, processing, manufacturing, cooking, packing, storing, transporting, and selling kimchi. The Decree mandates the formulation of a comprehensive plan, including holding kimchi fairs, operating self-help funds, and developing raw material crops. It offers subsidies for management improvement, education and training institutions, professional human resources, distribution centers, traditional kimchi revival, and globalization efforts. The Decree also outlines the creation and use of self-help funds to promote kimchi consumption and market development.
