Framework Act on Agriculture and Rural Development.

The purpose of this Act is to develop agriculture and rural communities by prescribing the basic directions of the agriculture and rural communities and the basic aspects of Government policy. The Act consists of 48 articles divided into 8 Chapters: General provisions (I); Basic direction of the policy on agriculture and rural communities (II); Restructuring agriculture industry (III); Stabilization of supply for and demand of agricultural goods and marketing improvement (IV); Trade of agricultural products and international cooperation (V); Rural communities development and income support (VI); Pursuit of development plans for agriculture and rural communities (VII); Supplementary provisions (VIII). Chapter III deals with matters related to the fostering of agriculture manpower, the use and preservation of farmland and advancement in the agriculture production structure. The Government shall establish and execute policies to improve the quality of agricultural products and to protect consumers through the marking of places of origin on agricultural goods and the quality control of agricultural products, etc.
