Abstract
This Act provides for rights and obligations of people and for responsibilities held by the State and local government with regard to food safety by specifying measures for the establishment and coordination of food safety policies.
Basic plans for food safety control shall be prepared and for this a Food Safety Policy Committee shall be established. Contents of plans and composition and duties of the Committee are specified in the text.
The Act further provides for: preparation of emergency response plans to prevent or minimize harm to public health; orders of inspection; safety management of new food products; management and disclosure of information on food safety; consumer participation; etc.
