Abstract
The purpose of this Act is to increase the international competitiveness of the shipping industry and to contribute to development of the national economy by prescribing matters concerning the registration of ships which make international voyages, assistance to international ships, etc. In particular, section 3 lays down provisions relating to ships eligible for registration, such as, ships owned by Korean nationals; ships owned by corporations established under the Acts of Korea; ships operated by ocean-going transport enterprisers. Section 4 deals with registration procedures. The text consists of 13 sections.
