Abstract
This Act aims to support the revitalization of marine leisure tourism by establishing matters related to the promotion and implementation of marine leisure tourism, sustainably managing and preserving marine leisure tourism resources, and creating an activity base for marine leisure tourism, thereby contributing to the promotion of national health and welfare and to the development of the national economy.
The Act empowers the Minister of Oceans and Fisheries to support local governments financially for related projects and to request assistance from the Minister of Culture, Sports, and Tourism for tourism development funds. Additionally, the Act outlines the need for comprehensive planning that aligns with existing tourism development plans and other relevant legislation. It emphasizes the importance of protecting and managing marine leisure tourism resources to ensure their sustainable use. The establishment and modification of comprehensive plans require consultation with relevant authorities and must undergo review by the Marine and Fisheries Development Committee.
