Abstract
The purpose of this Act is to encourage, protect and utilize inventions, thereby promoting the development of technology, and to contribute to the development of industry. For the purpose of the present Act the term "invention" means the highly advanced creation of technical ideas utilizing laws of nature; and the term "patented invention" means an invention for which a patent has been granted. The text consists of 232 articles divided into 12 chapters as follows: General provisions (I); Requirements for patent registration and patent application (II); Examination (III); Patent fees and patent registrations (IV); Patent right (V); Protection of patentees (VI); Trial (VII); Retrial (VIII); Litigation (IX); International applications under patent cooperation treaty (X); Supplementary provisions (XI); Penal provisions (XII).
