Abstract
The purpose of this Act is to ensure public safety by prescribing matters concerning the export and import, filling, storage, sale, and use of liquefied petroleum gas and the safety control of gas appliances, and to ensure the proper supply and use of liquefied petroleum gas by rationally regulating liquefied petroleum gas business. For the purpose of the present Act the term "liquefied petroleum gas" means liquefied gas (including vaporized gas), primarily composed of propane or butane. The text – consisting of 73 articles – addresses, inter alia, the following aspects: Permission to Conduct Business (art. 5); Criteria for Permission (art. 6); Registration of Business Entities Entrusted with Transporting Liquefied Petroleum Gas (art. 9); Reporting on Commencement of Business (art. 11); Maintenance of Quality of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (art. 26); Safety Supervisors (art. 34).
