Special Act on the Preservation of Ecosystem in Island Areas Including Dokdo Island.

This Act provides for the conservation of the natural environment of specified islands, including their diverse natural ecosystems and geographical and geological features.
The Minister of Environment may designate specified islands if they comply with any of the characteristics listed in article 4 and shall prepare a master plan for the preservation of specified islands. The Minister may also commission island researchers to conduct investigations and honorary rangers to efficiently preserve the specified island.
The Act further provides for: activities restricted on specified islands; powers of the Minister of Environment to prohibit access to specified islands; penalties; etc.
