Abstract
The purpose of this Act is to ensure that present and future generations enjoy a better quality of life, by accomplishing sustainable development and participating in international efforts to implement sustainable development. For the purpose of the present Act the term «sustainable development» means development based on sustainability that is implemented simultaneously in the pursuit of economic growth, social stability and integration, and the preservation of the environment. The text consists of 22 articles divided into 5 chapters as follows: General provisions (I); Basic strategy for sustainable development (II); Evaluation of sustainability (III); Commission on Sustainable Development (IV); Supplementary provisions (V).
