Abstract
This Decree consisting of 3 articles aims at regulating the Chemicals Management in Kuwait. ِArticle 2 shows the application forms for obtaining the permits to (i) produce chemical substances; and (ii) adopt a chemical product (either locally manufactured or imported). Article 3 regulates (i) production and packaging of chemicals under the Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labeling of Chemicals (GHS); (ii) general conditions for storing chemicals; (iii) special conditions for storage of chemicals (i.e. flammable gases, compressed gases, solvents, flammable solids, organic peroxide, toxic chemicals, corrosive substances, organic and inorganic acids); and (iv) conditions for safely transporting chemicals. Article 4 regulates import and export of chemicals and hazardous substances, on the basis of the lists issued in compliance with the Rotterdam, Stockholm and Basel agreements and the competent national authorities.
