Decree No.7 of 2016 on the Regulations for the Protection of the Land and Agricultural Environment.

This Decree consisting of 7 articles aims at regulating some articles of the Law No.42 of 2014.
Art.1 regulates article 40 of the Law. It establishes that (i) the Kuwait Municipality is responsible for determining the land use in coordination with EPA, protecting the wild environment from pollution and damages, and establishing the areas where camping is allowed; (ii) the Public Authority for Agriculture Affairs and Fish Resources is responsible for determining grazing places and season; (iii) the Ministry of Electricity and Water is responsible for protecting groundwater (and the consequences on surface water) from any kind of pollution and damage; (iv) the Public Authority for Industry and the Ministry of Industry and Commerce are responsible for regulating the excavation activities for quarrying or storage materials in the wild environment or any industrial or handicraft activities. Art.2 regulates article 41 related to grazing, cultivation, plants, trees and flowers. Responsible body for protecting and regulating activities related to these issues is the Public Authority for Agriculture Affairs and Fish Resources. Art.3 regulates article 42 of the Law dealing with specifications relating to production, import, circulation and use of pesticides, fertilizers and soil enhancers in Kuwait. Responsible body is the Public Authority for Agriculture Affairs and Fish Resources. Art.4 regulates article 43 of the Law dealing in particular with specifications relating to production, import, circulation and use of organochlorine pesticides and chemical compounds. Art.5 regulates article 44 of the Law dealing in particular with specifications relating to production, import, circulation and use of abrasive materials. Art.6 regulates article 46 of the Law dealing in particular with specifications relating to mining (establishment, enlargement, permits). Responsible body is the Public Authority for Industry. Art.7 regulates article 47 of the Law dealing with sand encroachment and reduction of its impact. Responsible body is the Kuwait Municipality.
