Law No. 28 of 1980 on Maritime Trade.

The Law defines the technical requirements for the fishing boats and their registration procedure specifying the documentation needed. The Law concerns shipbuilding, common property, franchising, maritime mortgage, and ship seizure. The Law regulates the marine navigation and defines the roles of the owner, the supplier, the sailors. It organises the maritime labour, the exploitation of the ship, and gives general provisions for the rental of the ships. It regulates the maritime carriage contracts.
