Ministerial Decision No.131/2012 on Food Regulation.

This Regulation consisting of 41 articles aims at providing rules to protect human health regulating the process of preparing, manufacturing, packing, or importing, transporting, delivering, storing, selling, or possessing for the purpose of dealing with of them any substances prepared for eating, drinking, chewing or any other substance used in the preparation of human food, excluding medical preparations.
It prohibits food (i) contaminated with radioactive materials, microbes, parasites, pesticides or chemical substances possible to cause diseases in humans; (ii) containing a prohibited substance, such as colored materials, preservatives or otherwise; (iii) with packaging containing substances harmful to human health.
It prohibits circulation of food (i) unfit for human consumption or harmful to human health, corrupt or damaged; (ii) if chemical, microbiological , or any other analysis shows a change in their composition by laboratory testing; (iii) if it is expired for use according to the fixed date written on its food card.
Article 6 regulates the use of food additives. Article 7 regulates the data card information on the basis of standard specifications for the food labels. Article 12 deals with recording rules for who is engaged in food trade or circulation. Article 14 regards health and technical conditions to be met when samples are taken and transferred to laboratories accredited by the Municipality. Article 16 deals with analysis of samples. Article 19 regulates trading of imported food. Article 20 provides for the sale of fresh vegetables and fruits imported or offered for sale. Article 24 provide for general and special technical and health requirements. Article 25 and following deal with technical specifications and sanitary conditions of transport vehicles.
The health certificate is requested for all workers in food trading.
