Abstract
This Resolution, comprising 64 articles organized into nine chapters, outlines rules to ensure the safety of imported food. It covers harmful foods, spoiled foods, adulterated or misleading foods, conditions for import, highly dangerous foods, the requirement for prior approval from the Kuwaiti Authority, cases not considered imported for commercial reasons, and specified importation requirements. The Resolution also addresses food additives, food labels, required documents, and health certificates for food consignments, emphasizing certificates issued by the official authority of the origin country as per Article 19. Additional articles focus on rules for importing meat, compliance with Islamic rules, inspections, sample collection, analysis, regulation of stores and warehouses, and delineate the role and powers of the Public Authority for Food and Nutrition in the final chapters.
