Abstract
These Regulations issued by the Environment Public Authority (EPA) concern the engineering and environmental requirements for facilities. They emphasize the need for comprehensive environmental impact studies, technical descriptions of projects, and assessments of social and economic feasibility. The Resolution mandates adherence to EPA regulations and requires the submission of initial reports for review and approval of proposed facilities. It is established that all facilities must comply with the engineering and environmental requirements as specified for each sector. The Environment Public Authority reserves the right to impose additional detailed requirements based on the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) studies submitted for these activities. These requirements may include recommendations, mitigation measures, and environmental management and monitoring plans aimed at minimizing adverse impacts, in line with Resolution No. 2 of 2015. The sectors included in the Regulations are (i) Chemical Industries; (ii) Oil and Gas; (iii) Engineering Projects and Building Materials; (iv) Food and Agricultural Industries; (v) Energy; (vi) Infrastructure Projects; (vii) Irrigation, Agriculture, Livestock, and Fisheries Projects; (viii) Water Supply Projects; (ix) Urban Development Projects; (x) Waste Management; (xi) Tourism and Entertainment Projects; (xii) Warehousing.
