Agreement between the governments of the member states of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization on cooperation in providing assistance in the liquidation of emergency situations.

The Parties shall cooperate in conformity with the provisions of this Agreement in accordance with generally recognized principles and norms of international law, as well as the laws of the states of the Parties with a view to promptly provide assistance in the liquidation of emergency situations. In the event of an emergency or the threat of its occurrence on the territory of a State of one of the Parties, that Party may request assistance from the other Party or Parties. The Parties render each other assistance in accordance with their capabilities and on the basis of voluntary actions. Conditions for the provision of assistance are determined by agreement of the Parties. The Parties shall develop mutually beneficial cooperation in the field of prevention of emergency situations by planning joint actions in case of emergencies, monitoring of the natural environment, exchange of information and training of specialists.
